Cycling routes suitable for day trips include:
The Mawddach trail follows the estuary running along the disused railway from Dolgellau to Morfa Mawddach and beyond to the sea at Barmouth. It is 9 miles long and offers a flat ride and beautiful views. We can drop bikes off at the start of the route and pick them up at the end of the route for a small fee, please click here for more info.
Lôn Ardudwy runs along minor roads between Porthmadog and Barmouth and has stunning views of Cardigan Bay and the Rhinog mountains. It is 22 miles long, however regular mainline trains stop in most of the villages/towns along the way so you can cycle a section of it and return to your start point on the train.
The bike orienteering route, Trailquest, at Beddgelert forest is approx. 18 miles/25mins drive from the holiday village and offers easy, mainly flat routes on forest roads.
Lôn Las Cymru, known as route 8 of the National Cycle Network, passes behind the village. Going south it starts on a quiet road and turns into a traffic free route, from where you can enter the Coed y Brenin Forest. Going north the route continues past Trawsfynydd and onto Porthmadog and beyond.
Bala Lake is 20 miles/25 mins away from the accommodation and offers a peaceful ride on gentle cycle paths and quite roads through lovely countryside.
