Kayaking, Canoeing & White Water Rafting in Snowdonia - National White Water Rafting Accommodation

Kayaking, Canoeing & White Water Rafting

Our holiday accommodation is perfectly located for Canoeing, Kayaking & White Water Rafting in and around Snowdonia with Canolfan Tryweryn - The National White Water Centre just 15 minutes drive away and rivers like Mawddach, Eden, Prysor and Wnion on our doorstep.

Canolfan Tryweryn

The National White Water Centre near Bala is approx 16 miles from our holiday village and offers commercial white water rafting and kayaking. The Tryweryn is a dam released river so water is often flowing when other British rivers are dry. The centre offers Taster sessions, Full Rafting Sessions, a Tryweryn Special, a Tryweryn Safari that is suitable for children as young as 10, an Orca Adventure that is a cross between white water rafting and canoeing and even the chance to try Kayaking in a Tandem Kayak.

If you book your accommodation with us we'll give you a discount code to get 12% off their trips.

NOTE: Kayakers and canoeists are welcome to use the facilities at Canolfan Tryweryn, but some parts of the site are pre-booked, so contacting the centre is advisable.

As we are close to the Mawddach, Eden, Prysor and Wnion rivers, you could get an expert local river guide to show you little known becks and secret local runs or to give you some one-on-one or group coaching by hiring a FlowFree coach for half a day, day or weekend, who will tailor sessions to the individuals taking part.

Surf Snowdonia’s Wavegarden is located in Dolgarrog in the Conwy Valley (50 mins in the car). You can book a surf session and take your kayak along to use on their purpose built fresh-water lagoon, which is roughly the size of six football pitches and where waves are generated at the push of the button. They may have to restrict kayak sessions to certain time slots so you are best to check with them before booking.

For those that prefer calmer waters then Trawsfynydd Lake is just 5 miles down the road where you can hire canoes and kayaks for a half or full day or launch your own Canoe or Kayak by registering and paying at the lakeside cafe. Canoes and kayaks can also be hired from Bala Watersports Centre on Bala Lake (20 minutes drive) and at the Llyn Gwynant Campsite on Lake Gwynant near to Beddgelert in the high season which is about 40 mins by car.

Organised sessions are also available with Bala Watersports on Bala Lake and Surf-lines at Llanberis Lake. Many of the local adventure activity companies also organise trips along a number of Snowdonia's estuaries.
